We are happy to welcome pow seeker, mountain biker, and professional photographer, Grant Gunderson to the Deuter Ambassador team. Grant hails from Bellingham, Washington, a home base that puts him in perfect proximity to record snowfall-holding Mt. Baker and the legendary trails near Vancouver. We recently got the scoop on where Grant got his start in skiing and some of his favorite adventures to date.
What is your core sport(s)?
Skiing and Mountain Biking
When/what was your first memorable "outdoor" experience?
I still remember the very first time my parents took me out skiing. It was a beautiful sunny pow day, and I remember the sides of the ski track being taller than me!
What is your most epic outdoor adventure to date?
That's tough, I’ve been so fortunate to have been able to travel to so many amazing places with great people. Top of the list would be pow skiing in Japan, skiing Mt. Etna in Sicily and having it erupt while standing on top, and using sea kayaks to access some remote peaks in the Andes.
What is your "go-to" Deuter product?
The Freerider 26. It's the perfect pack for a day of backcountry skiing.
