So Long, Utah, See You in Denver – Outdoor Retailer 2017
In the shadow of the Wasatch Mountains, outdoor industry professionals, media members and retailers gathered for a last time in Salt Lake City to ogle and awe at the latest gear and gadgets for outdoor adventure. That's right folks, the dust has just settled on Outdoor Retail Summer Market 2017.
Of course, Deuter was there in style, showing off the latest from the adventurous minds at Deuter HQ. The first thing everyone noticed was a complete redesign of the color scheme. Tonal is the new paradigm.
Looking deeper, they would have noticed the new Sensic back system in the Futura line, setting a new benchmark for technical comfort and support in a mid-sized trekking pack. There were also two new lines of trekking packs, an expanded new line of light/fast SpeedLite packs and new hydration packs featuring Aircomfort "trampoline" back systems. All due on the market Spring 2018.
Yup, it's all go from Deuter.
Other highlights of the week included Jim Harris, the athlete and artist behind Perpetual Weekend, painting a mural of Bears Ears to raise money for Friends of Cedar Mesa, a local public lands advocacy group. Of course the whole team took park in the public lands march, too, tipping their hat to the lifeblood of the outdoor industry.
Keith Howells stopped by to say "hi" to Deuter President Bill Hartrampf with his darling daughter and stole the show for a minute on Friday, but no one complained.
Until next year... in Denver!
